Milling Speed And Feed Calculator
The milling speed and feed calculator only need to set the diameter of the cutting part of the initial cutting tool and the number of sharp edges that cut into the workpiece along the tool circumference. It can accurately and quickly calculate Spindle speed (RPM) and Feed rate (IPM) Cut time (min).
Tool diameter (in):Number of teeth:
- Feed per tooth (IPT)xNumber of Teeth=Cutting Feed (IPR)
- Cutting speed (SFM)x 12÷Tool diameter (in)* π=Spindle speed (RPM)
- Cutting feed (IPR)xSpindle speed (RPM)=Feed rate (IPM)
- Cut length (in)÷Feed rate (IPM)=Cut time (min)
Milling Speed And Feed Calculator parameter description
Tool diameter (in) | The cutting portion is the length of the tool containing the teeth of the cutting material. |
Number of teeth | Number of sharp edges along the axis of the tool into the workpiece. |
Feed per tooth (IPT) | The distance that the workpiece enters each tooth when the multi-point cutting tool rotates, in inches per tooth. |
Cutting Feed (IPR) | The distance traveled by the tool during one full revolution of the spindle, in inches per revolution. |
Cutting speed (SFM) | Speed of the workpiece surface relative to the edge of the cutting tool during cutting in surface feet per minute. |
Spindle speed (RPM) | Spindle of the spindle and the connected tool in revolutions per minute. |
Feed rate (IPM) | Speed of cutting tool relative to workpiece when cutting tool, in inches / minute. |
Cut length (in) | The length that the cutting tool travels at a specified feed rate to perform a cutting operation. |
Cut time (min) | The time required for the tool to travel the cut length at the specified feed rate. |
